Secretarial Address

I am deeply honored to have been elected as the youngest General Secretary of Nepal Ophthalmic Society, and I thank you all for your trust and confidence in me. I am especially humbled to be elected unopposed, which I believe speaks to the unity and shared vision we have.

Nepal Ophthalmic Society (NOS) is the society for all ophthalmologist registered in Nepal working in different institutions, in Nepal or abroad. The society which was started in 1985 under the presidentship of Dr. N.C. Rai , with handful ophthalmologist, has progressed over the year and today has over 500 members. The society has been able to make a significant impact for eye health advocacy and policy.

As we continue our journey, the welfare of the Nepal Ophthalmic Society and its members should be our uttermost priority and it will.
Our society will continue to advocate against “Misuse of doctor title” as it is our moral duty to protect our profession and public, create awareness for the public.

We will continue updating our nos web page with additional of new feature as it is crucial in a fast-paced digital world ensuring our members have good user experience, transparency, security and reflecting professionalism and credibility preserving our history.

We will also focus on developing new leaders through leadership development program (LDP) for ophthalmologist.

I have and I will continue to dedicate my time and sincerity to bring positive impact for the society and its members, better reach its member through open communication, collaborate with different stakeholders and keep the unity we all share. Our action will demonstrate our commitment.

We will continue to foster a collaborative environment with different eye health stakeholders without undermining our integrity and ensure collective efforts.

We look forward from all its members from the senior most to junior most for advice and support for the betterment of the Nepal Ophthalmic Society.
