This award is instituted to commemorate Prof. Dr. Ram Prasad Pokhrel, an ophthalmologist and President of Nepal Ophthalmic Society (1987-1990). Regarded and respected as “The Father of Eye Care Services in Nepal”, this is awarded at NOSCON.
The recipient of the award are each topper of Master Degree in Ophthalmology of Different University of Nepal. (NAMS, KUSMS, BPKIH, TU), having life member of Nepal Ophthalmic Society at the time.
